Off To A Great Start!

President Elect Obama apologized to Nancy Reagan after a making quite the classy joke about her in his first press conference.

Nancy is currently recovering from a fall where she broke her hip. Despite this, I am sure she was quite gracious when President Elect O phoned. Why am I sure of this? Because she is Nancy Reagan.

Since we are discussing Barry's coming out party, do you know which media got to cover this great event? Let's see: AP, NBC, ABC, CBS, Reuters, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, CNN and the New York Times. No questions from Fox. Heh.

A recap of Obama's first days:

1. Chose Rahm Emanuel (D-Illinois) as Chief of Staff. Interesting choice from the person who claimed to be the ultimate change agent. I think he mentioned something about not being a collection of Red States and Blue States, being Americans, etc. The rest of us know Senator Emanuel is not just a partisan shrill, he is a far left, hard core liberal known for his vile attacks on Republicans. Oh, he was a Clinton hack, too. Will we have a "This is not the Rahm I knew" moment in our future?

2. He disrespects Nancy Reagan at his first Press conference, and then apologizes. Wonder how often this is going to happen. As an aside, someone might want to inform Barry President Reagan is our hero and we don't take these things lightly.

3. Fox doesn't get a question at the first press conference.

4. That thing about not employing lobbyists? Just kidding. Politico reports the new tone of Washington is just like the old tone of Washington.

Despite campaign trail promises that special interests wouldn’t be a part of his administration, President-elect Barack Obama’s has sent signals to the lobbyists that they can get jobs with him.

...the overall message to the lobbying community appears to run counter to the Democratic senator’s campaign promise to keep special interest advocates at arms length. (h/t newsbusters).

Yes, change. You betcha.
