As you may have noticed by the absence of information on the "Tea Parties", I wasn't a big fan. I was very intrigued by the premise of this. I remain intrigued by the premise and more than ever feel like this is an opportunity for the RNC to redeem themselves, if handled correctly.
I am a great supporter of free speech. I supported Cindy Sheehan's right to be bark at the moon raving mad. Free speech doesn't mean what is said suddenly becomes free from criticism. Far from it - if you put it out there, it's fair game. In this case, we had a bunch of fringe lunatics (I will not call them right or left wing - they are their own crazy wing) who suddenly became the voice of conservatives. Ron Paul took credit for organizing this stuff, for Pete's sake!
Republicans, we were handed the last election on a silver platter, yet managed what only Republicans are capable of - screwing up when the stars are perfectly aligned. We were all right - President Obama is a world class buffoon making 2010 a golden opportunity, again, if handled correctly. Let's start with shunning those who are racists and anti-Semites. Take a hard look at the players - some big names need to get off the train (Pat Robertson, anyone?). They can say what they want, but they can't say it on behalf of the Republican party.
Ron Paul, our own version of Dennis Kucinich, needs to exit stage left as well. He needs to take Huckabee with him. This can't happen soon enough.
Let's engage the rage of the true conservatives who took part in the tea parties and open the door to those of us who didn't want our names associated with White Supremacists. We need to get together to show the Country what we really are made of: courage, integrity, morality and full support of the Constitution.

The Press Conference that Refused to End
Tonight we were blessed with the complex oratory skills of our President. I watched the whole thing, beginning to end, and feel that I am deserving of some type of award for valor. I'm sure the rest of you who did the same feel the same.
The President has mastered the art of "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with BS" communication methods. Funny thing is, I think Obama was just as baffled with his answers as the rest of us. In the few coherent and understandable sentences spoken, Obama called out his dissenters and does all he can to shut them down a la Chicago politics. He tries to convince us FDR's policies were just groovy, historians got it all wrong, you see. He noted "people need to break out of their ideological rigidity". He means me, to which I say MY ideological rigidity will go with me to my grave, thank you kindly.
In one of his ramblings, he made overtures about Pakistan. Hold on to your hats, folks, that will be a ride like we've not seen with this guy at the helm.
Then there were the questions - Andrea Mitchell, professional reporter, asks the President's opinion on A-Rod's drug use. This is useful? Another professional journalist from CNN wanted to know when he could take pictures of Soldier's coffins. HuffPo (!) wants to know when we are going to throw the book at President Bush. Obama says no one is above the law, unless and of course you are a tax evading member of his cabinet.
I am stunned at how much this man doesn't know, doesn't get, and beyond that, how often he rambled on and on and on saying absolutely nothing. He contradicted himself repeatedly and displayed his incredible narcissism. That coupled with his complete lack of qualifications for the position he holds is a sight to behold. He blamed Bush as often as possible (but then blamed Fannie and Freddie, he forgot that was a Dem thing?). It was a pathetic display that ended quite bizarrely and abruptly - maybe he didn't want to miss 24, but he should still work on that a bit.

All Republicans vote no on Porkapalooza
Wow! They all remembered they were Republicans! I'm proud of you!
PS - This is a stunning loss to the Dems, most especially when you consider Obama lost 11 of his own on this. So much for his incredible skills of bringing everything and everyone together!

Rush Responds To Obama
Obama announced that if the Republicans wanted to get along and get things done, they would stop listening to Rush, in what the press referred to as a "zing":
In any event, Rush responds at NRO:
Snip
Snip
Snip.
That is a real zing, friends and neighbors.
"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package. Are you kidding me? You are telling the opposition who they can and can't listen too? Is this the beginnings of your Fairness Doctrine Redux? Has anyone let President Obama know that Rush is an entertainment personality, not a representative of the GOP?
In any event, Rush responds at NRO:
Snip
There are two things going on here. One prong of the Great Unifier's plan is to isolate elected Republicans from their voters and supporters by making the argument about me and not about his plan. He is hoping that these Republicans will also publicly denounce me and thus marginalize me. And who knows? Are ideological and philosophical ties enough to keep the GOP loyal to their voters? Meanwhile, the effort to foist all blame for this mess on the private sector continues unabated when most of the blame for this current debacle can be laid at the feet of the Congress and a couple of former presidents. And there is a strategic reason for this.
Snip
One more thing, Byron. Your publication and website have documented Obama's ties to the teachings of Saul Alinksy while he was community organizing in Chicago. Here is Rule 13 of Alinksy's Rules for Radicals:
"Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it."
Snip.
That is a real zing, friends and neighbors.

But Can Obama Google?
By now we have all heard and or seen the ad from Camp Obama declaring John McCain unfit for the position of POTUS because he can't figure out email. I am guessing they don't have google at Camp Obama headquarters - either that or everyone is still in Alaska desperately looking for dirt on Sarah.
Had one of the 300 advisers done a bit of surfing themselves, they may have discovered this gem from 2000 -
In certain ways, McCain was a natural Web candidate. Chairman of the Senate Telecommunications Subcommittee and regarded as the U.S. Senate's savviest technologist, McCain is an inveterate devotee of email. His nightly ritual is to read his email together with his wife, Cindy. The injuries he incurred as a Vietnam POW make it painful for McCain to type. Instead, he dictates responses that his wife types on a laptop. "She's a whiz on the keyboard, and I'm so laborious," McCain admits.
Great job, Barack Obama Advertising Gurus! You have just created an ad poking fun at John McCain's war injuries. Had Senator Obama shown up for work a bit more, he may have noticed that Chairman part, too.
UPDATE -
It just occurred to me those whizkids at Camp Obama had their own technical snafu - 3am text message anyone? Not only was there an overload issue with getting the message out (hmm, that couldn't have been planned for) but they didn't even think through the logistics of getting Biden out without anyone in the press noticing! They had been camped out in front of the leading contenders houses for a few days looking for activity, which came in the form of Secret Service Agents whisking Biden away under the cover of...nothing.

What Can Your Government Do For You?
Clearly I am a masochist. I've been watching the commun…I mean Dem convention. Its mind numbing to be honest. They could have saved a lot of money by just saying “give me a big government hand out” and moving on. But no, we had to listen to Michelle H. Obama drone on in a really, really ugly dress. We were all supposed to be moved because, get this, Barack actually went to the hospital BOTH TIMES Michelle gave birth and THEN HE HELPED BRING THE BABY HOME. What a guy. I mean who else has a husband that would do such things to support his wife? Hasn't accomplished jack taco, but he drove those babies home. Vote for him!
Of note was the spiel on "the world as it is" schtick. As much as Michelle wants us to believe her husband came up with this thought, we know better. Yes, Michelle, you may be used to deceiving the idiots that support your husband, but you won't fool the rest of us. This gem of a statement comes from Marxist Saul Alinsky's book Rules for Radicals: "Unable to come to grips with the world as it is, they retreat in any confrontation with the younger generation with that infuriating cliché, ". Mr. Alinsky was a "community organizer" in Chicago. Sound familiar? He also advocated the actions of the Weathermen in the same book as this was a call for Social Revolution. Interesting that B. Obama has that dirty little connection to William Ayers, isn't it? Oh, and Hillary Clinton's thesis was on who else but Saul Alinsky. This should scare the pants off you if you are somewhat rational.
So tonight I am back at it watching, hoping for some sort of excitement. No dice. I tried to make it a bit more fun by turning the snooze fest into a drinking game. I thought every time someone says “change” I would drink. I soon realized I would be comatose in about 3 minutes and miss all the umm – excitement. So I changed it up to “tax breaks for corporations”, that too proved dangerous. Next was Bush’s America. I couldn't get past just how dumb that really is, it ruined the whole point of the game.
So here I sit watching this Warner guy point his slimy little finger at me while lecturing me on global warming, and how the government should provide me with everything. All together, all for each other he says. Yeah – well, I’ve seen what this party attracts outside the convention center and I am just going to have to say no thanks.
Oh, by the way, they’ve built a Mosque right there on the convention grounds. Any one find that a bit strange? (H/T Zombie via LGF)
Now for Queen Hillary. I thought there would be some fun. How disappointing. We hear Hillary, like Michelle, is a proud mother. Michelle was more convincing. She then forced (seriously) the words that everyone needs to get behind Barack. This explains the Orange Julius pant suit - the better to hide the impending puke.
She zinged Barry O with getting the correct state count AND the territories. Take that 3am text message! Ok, well, a bit of fun happened - Hillary was campaigning up there! She replayed the nameless characters of past, to include the marine. Why don't they have names? Methinks the exist just in her head. Hillary says Michelle is going to be a great first lady. Michelle just looked pissed. Seriously, seriously pissed.
Hillary did jump through the space/time continuum by saying we don't need "four more years of the last eight years". This was followed by a tease where she said they should all keep going. But they didn't. They stayed right there spewing nonsense.
The wrap up included the message the only hope for children is big government. And then she used G-d 80 billion times. Crowd roared. She campaigned waved. The end.
Will I be able to get through Bill tomorrow? Its gonna take a lot of caffeine, believe you me.

Thank You, B. Hussein Obama
Dear Barry O:
Thank you. Sincerely. From the bottom of my heart. You see, voting for McCain causes me great concern, and heartburn even. However each day you do something so moronic (like picking a guy for your VP that is the antithesis of your "change" message) I realize how important it is to ensure my chad is not hanging near the McCain name. You are convincing me that McCain is the right choice so that baby is going to be punched clean and clear. I am feeling better and better about my vote as this campaign rolls along.
You have given a gift not just to me, but to Team McCain. This group has created not one but TWO ads within 24 hours using only quotes from your side of the fence proving you are a nincompoop. The Biden one was ironic and funny, but this one? Priceless. The only thing that could possibly be funnier is if McCain picked Hillary to be his VP. We would have our guy on War and she could work over Congress and the Senate. - I AM KIDDING, TEAM McCAIN! IT IS A JOKE! DO NOT RUN WITH THIS! - ed.
Keep it up, Barry. You are doing a great job.
Yours Truly,
AW

Obama Disowns Another Pastor - Didn't know, Shocked again...
This shock and disappointment shtick is getting a bit old. Mr. Obama, why not try disgusted or pissed or really, really mad even? Nope. All Barak can muster is a wringing of the hands followed by not so plausible deniability. Our change agent once again states he was unaware of this type pf thing coming out of the church he has attended 20 years. Oh, and as an aside, Mr. Obama earmarked $100,000 for this buffoon Father Pfleger.
Time to remove the kid gloves. This guy is frightenly stupid. Or naive. I really don’t care which; the end result is the same. The one who wants to be Commander in Chief with his groundbreaking foreign policy methods has employed none other than Zbignew Brzezinski for advice. Not only is this character another anti-Semite in the Obama camp, but also he was the brilliant foreign policy strategist under Carter that came up with locking himself in his office until Iran freed the hostages. Wow – that must have scared the pants right off those Iranians welding guns.
He did get out of his office about the time the hostages were freed – because President Reagan moved into the Whitehouse.
